Who am I? I am a software engineering who works mainly with embedded aircraft systems dealing with Flight Controls. I love my job. I work long hours, and really enjoy the relaxation of my small 13 acre homestead. Yup. That's right! Currently, we (my wife and I) are starting off small with 3000 sq. foot vegetable garden and some chickens. It's a lot of work, but very rewarding. We've only lived here in Upstate NY a couple of years and are excited to expand our homestead with fruit trees, more chickens, and even some sheep! We are nowhere near self sufficient, but we want to rely less and less on the commercial food market.

My Reviews Though I joined a couple of years ago, I'm starting to understand more and more how important this site is and how helpful good and bad reviews can be. Therefore, I'm very concerned with how people rate my reviews and appreciate constructive criticism. As I'm trying to catch up and adding newer reviews, I think that I'm starting to get the hang of things. Please feel free to give me supportive and helpful advice.

My rating system I try to rate all reviews I read. Through these ratings, we can make this a better site. However, I'm going to state this outright. If I give your review a rating below Helpful, I will try my best to leave a comment to explain why. I make no apologies for how I rate. I am giving you an honest opinion of how helpful I found your review. I simply want to make one thing clear -- because everyone else thought your review was helpful doesn't mean I will. I may not and will rate accordingly.

Web of Trust My web of trust is comprised of those authors whom have dedicated a significant portion of their free time to help others and have done a good job of supplying helpful reviews time and time again. I try to only trust current authors -- those who are writing reviews at least once quarterly. Also, I have to feel that you, the author, are giving an honest opinion. If you say you like a product, why? Same in reverse. Adding me to your web of trust does not mean I will add you. I will review what you have written and decide from there. Please don't turn this into a popularity contest. Open and honest reviews will gain my trust. Nothing else. Just because you are trusted by reputable authors means nothing to me. Also note, I try to read all new reviews by those people on my web of trust. Because of this, if my list grows large and you aren't putting out high quality reviews, I will remove you.
