Married for over 40 years, the father of three great kids, now all grown up and living on their own. We all live in picturesque midcoast Maine.
I served on active duty with the U.S. Air Force for 22 years; I retired in 1997. Currently, I work as a rural mail carrier in my wife's home town.

Books: especially history, biography, and literary fiction. Favorite writers: Shelby Foote, William Manchester, Fred Anderson, Robert A. Caro, David McCullough, and James McPherson.
Movies: Favorite recent releases include: The Hurt Locker; Avatar; Body of Lies; and Inglorious Basterds; Other, older favorites: American Graffiti; Heat; Casablanca; The Godfather Trilogy; The Seven Year itch; Zodiac,; Malcolm X; and Hoosiers.
Music: especially classical, '60s and '70s rock, and jazz. Favorite artists: the "Killer B's" - Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms; Mozart; Haydn; Stevie Ray Vaughan; Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers; Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young; Eric Clapton; and The Who.
OTHER INTERESTS:
Community service: I'm a member of several community service organizations dedicated to helping the less fortunate in our community.
Community theater: I've sung, danced, and acted in several stage musicals.
