I am a proud, though somewhat exhausted, mom to two boys, ages 2 and 13 (yes, same hubby!).
Although I have a B.S. in Elementary Education, I put my gradebook aside to become a "professional Mommy" and have never regretted a moment. There will always be classrooms of students to teach, but I know from experience how quickly these little ones grow. So I'm having a blast doing all of the "mommy" things one more time. Of course it does sometimes feel strange when I discover that some of my former third grade students now have children older than my toddler!
I keep my finger in the teaching profession by designing and writing the curriculum used by the 1st through 6th graders at our church. It doesn't pay anything, but it keeps me mentally and creatively stimulated.
I think that's one of the things I love about writing and reading epinions.
