I rate everything on a 1-10 basis. That includes music, movies, games and books. I weight the number if I feel it's in between somewhere. Basically,
10 = Perfect, I don't know if I've ever given one. It's probably not actually perfect, but I might weight it because I like what it's doing.
9.0-9.9 = Excellent, or in the case of an album it might be influential or something, adding a few points
8.0-8.9 = Great, has obvious flaws but still works as what it is.
7.0-7.9 = Good, should definitely be improved in some area but most likely should not be missed
6.0-6.9 = Decent, just about average but might have something about it worth looking at
5.0-5.9 = Just about average or below. A 5.0 is generally something bad based on my rating system, but barely that. It might just be boring or uninteresting to me as well.
4.0-4.9 = Below average or bad. Anything I rate in this category should be avoided based on my recommendations. It's not a trainwreck of whatever it is, but it's got problems.
3.0-3.9 = Terrible, as in something heavily flaws it or it's just awful by design.
2.0-2.9 = Useless, I rarely rate things this low, it probably has to be going of its way to anger me or at last seem like it to me.
1.0-1.9 = I don't know if I've ever gone this low, but it's like 2.0-2.9 but even worse.
0-0.9 = Again, I don't think I've ever gone this low but this is as low as it can go. It would probably have to psychologically damage me or make me cringe with horror at how bad it is.
