About nsign
Greetings and salutations. I'm Steve, I live in the north of England, I'm 29, and these are my various musings / reviews. My reviews generally focus on music, movies, the occasional live concert, books, and the odd political rant. My tastes in music range from 30's blues music, to 1950's rock n roll, to 70's and 80's rock, reggae, Britpop and modern dance / house / trip hop music - About as varied as you can get, I like to think. I like almost any genre of film except those movies commonly called "chick flicks", eg rotten romantic comedies, usually starring an ex-Friends cast member. I'm particularly fond of a good horror film, a bit of sci-fi and fantasy, South Park-style comedy, and anything not starring Ben Affleck ( except Shakespeare In Love. He's quite good in that ).

I have no particular political leanings, having no real fondness or interest in any major party, although I have found myself becoming anti-Iraq war and anti-Bush in the last couple of years. I have no real religious beliefs to speak of, and although I'm not anti-religion per se, I'm vehemently opposed to religion being used to inform any kind of government policy or stance.

My favourite band is Pink Floyd, my favourite solo artist is Bob Dylan, my favourite film is The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, my favourite album is London Calling by The Clash and my favourite book is currently a toss-up between Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything and Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.

I do not own a car.

I am not yet going bald.

I like a drink.

I do try to read and rate those who have done the same to me, as frankly not enough people are rating them yet, and it's always nice to see some comments on a review, especially if they disagree with my opinions, so feel free to leave your thoughts or send emails etc if you have questions and I'll try and respond quickly. I will probably not rate reviews on subjects I know nothing about, for example, beauty products, children's toys etc, so don't take it personally if I don't rate all of your stuff.

Thanks for reading, I hope you find my stuff useful, and maybe prompts you to check out some worthwhile films, albums and books, and helps you avoid the bad ones.
