I've lived all over the country but longest in CA and IA. I hate to shop and do most of my shopping on line. I like to find products I can count on and then don't tend to try new things unless something way better comes along.
I am trying to stay away from corporate greed and haven't shopped at WalMart in over 10 years.
I try to buy American. I try to stay away from genetically altered foods, cloned foods, things made in China. I try to live green as much as possible. I am trying to switch to organic and locally grown produce. I don't use paper products when I can use dishes I wash, glasses I wash and rags I can wash.
I'm very aware that we are living in a country that is very out of balance all in the name of greed. We can't trust the medication manufacturers. We can't trust the food producers. We've been sold down the river by the car manufacturers and oil kings and many of us are being killed by the coal mine owners. This is a time very like the early 1900's and the only solution is for the people to rise up and shout...represent Us not the lobbyists for big business. By the way, just what is the FDA? If ever an investigation was called for deep investigation into the practices of the FDA is needed.
The bottom line is profit and acceptable losses. In other words for corporations to make more money, many of us can and will die and the corporations really don't care. I'm being nice here. What is the value of human life. Is death an acceptable loss to you?
I'm a Christian and therefore, I'm blessed. Just making that decision and having been given the gift of faith in Jesus, I'm blessed. But I'm active. I work with people who are hurting. I volunteer with organizations that are trying to fight for our human rights against the mega corporations. I am raising a child who would have been killed by abortion had I not stepped in. I'm blessed. I'm blessed because I live in a country that still listens to it's people when we are willing to shout and write and act. I'm blessed for a multitude of other reasons and it's because I recognize that I'm blessed that I have hope.
