About octagonpeg

I am a young retiree, I retired when I was about 42, and have had the ability to keep abreast of world events, and technology and indulge my hobbies more than most people my age.
I have been involved very heavily in vintage concourse Mid-Year Corvettes and just about everthing on two wheels.
I got to EPINIONS thru a web search on information on something or other and found it useful to see other peoples perceptions of items I have either owned or was considering buying. One of the things that surprised me while reading soem reviews is how many people seem to get "locked in time" and perpetuate values on things that have changed while their perceptions have remained the same.
The best example I can easily give is the auto industry.
I might come across a review that states in part..." I wanted to get the NEW Chevrolet IMPALA...My dad had one 20 years ago and loved his."..This stuff makes me want to cry sometimes. The perception that the IMPALA a customer might see in a dealership in 2003 is related in any way to a car that was called the IMPALA 20 years just makes me gasp with amazement.
If I can save one person from using this "time logic" when purchasing an expensive item, I know it will have been worth the time to correct my dismal typing. (I can type 20 words a minute, but it takes me 20 minutes to correct the spelling of those 20 words).
