I am a technical support rep. for a nationwide ISP. I enjoy working with people and helping them connect to the internet. I spend waaaaay too much time on the computer!
How I rate opinions:
1. I look at the category and see if the review fits the category for the product or service. If it has nothing to do with the category then it will be lucky if I even rate it.
2. I would not read or subscribe to a newspaper or magazine that doesn't bother to edit it's content. The same goes for the reviews here. I can forgive some small mistakes but proper grammer rates proper ratings. Use the spell checker. If you are not sure how to spell a word use another one or look it up. Use paragraphs to separate the subjects.
3. Don't just talk about how you feel about something. Tell why you feel that way. Talk about good points and bad points. Why it works for you or why it doesn't. Writing this is so cool or this is great doesn't tell me anything. Why is it cool or great?
4. Don't be vulgar! I come to this site to read thoughtful reviews written by thoughtful individuals. Some of our members are youngsters reviewing games and such and don't need to be exposed to some of the trash that some of our I hope soon to be ex-members write.
5. DON'T CHEAT!!! The opportunity to make easy money is a big enticement but it defeats the whole purpose of this site. I feel somewhat bad because I told a bunch of co-workers about this site and they have taken advantage of it. Don't arbitrarily rate reviews just because they are written by your friends or co-workers! All you will do is mess the site up for everyone else. Be honest with yourself and everyone else!
The people I trust:
These are reviewers that consistantly write good quality reviews. I don't trust many people. I plan on keeping it that way. Just because you trust me don't expect me to trust you.
People, we have a very good thing here. I have found many good things here and been very happy after I have tried them. Don't let a few bad apples spoil the whole barrel!
