Yakkowarner's Guide for New Members

About me: I'm 29 year old single guy, Christian, and employed full time. My biggest hobbies are paintball, riding my motorcycle, playing board games, mountain bike racing, and trying to stay young at heart.

I've decided mountain bikers are the coolest people, mostly because everyone is so friendly to each other. Sure there's a spirit of competition, but most of all everyone is racing to have fun. Oh yeah, it's also a great workout and keeps those all too frequent fast-food meals from sticking around too long.

I'm a huge country music fan, although I don't like most of the newer pop-country. A few of my favorite artists are Brad Paisley, Johnny Cash, Alison Krauss, Diamond Rio, Randy Travis, and Keith Urban.

My dislikes are few, but include working weekends, sick days, really loud car stereos, ice storms, and people with no common sense.

The dance of life occurs not yesterday or tomorrow, but only here at the still point that is the present. This truth is simple, self-evident, but difficult to accept, for we sentimentalize the past and wallow in it, while we endure the moment we are in, and every waking hour dream of the future that is to come. What you have done thus far in your life is the history of your soul, unalterable, ineradicable. What you hope to do in the future is of no meaning if you fail to do the wise thing, the good thing, the right thing, moment by moment, here at the still point, here in the dance of life.
Dean Koontz

You Are 70% American
Most times you are proud to be an American.
Though sometimes the good ole US of A makes you cringe
Still, you know there's no place better suited to be your home.
You love your freedom and no one's going to take it away from you!

Ancient Proverb of Unknown Origin

I walked a mile with Pleasure
she chattered all the way,
but left me none the wiser
for all she had to say.

I walked a mile with Sorrow
and ne'er a word said she,
but, oh, the things I learned from her
when Sorrow walked with me.
