About ORourke1
Hello everyone. I graduated with a BS in Psychology from SUNY Oneonta in 1997. I am currently working on obtaining my Master's in Social Work at Adelphi University. I should get my MSW in December, 2001. I cannot wait to be done with school.
I work full time as well. I am a program supervisor of a community residence for adults with mental illness. I've worked in residential care since I graduated from Oneonta. This type of work is extremely rewarding. However, it can also be emotionally draining. If you choose to work in this field, we welcome you (as there is a high turnover ratio). Keep one thing in mind: Remain objective. If you become to personally involved, you will burn out very quickly. Also, the pay is terrible in the mental health field.
I have been a die hard Mets fan basically since birth. I was born into a Mets home, and will raise my children the same way (when I have them). My father would actually kick my friends out if they were wearing any Yankee paraphernalia. He was a big Brooklyn Dodger fan, and still hates the Yankees. I on the other hand do not mind the Yanks. (Don't tell him that though!)
