About Panthera_Leo

Who is the man behind the mane?

I wasn't exactly a terror on the basketball court in high school in New Jersey, so I became part of the fun by dressing up in a lion costume and roaming the sidelines.

When I told that story to my wife-to-be, it amused her so much that she started calling me "Lion." We've been married more than 17 years...and I'm still her lion.

After high school, I went to Notre Dame, and graduated in 1973 with a degree in American Studies and a boatload of debt.

A liberal arts education didn't exactly open doors in those days, so I went on to the University of Michigan Law School. After graduating, I stayed in the Ann Arbor area.

Over the years, I've practiced law, been on the the University of Michigan staff, and taught courses in business law and investing.

Currently, I own a business that specializes in online legal research and analysis for business and government clients.

But I try to make time for more enjoyable activities. I travel as often as my schedule and budget permit, and read whenever I can find time.

I also keep busy writing about my favorite subjects. You can also find me on Suite101.com, where I manage the Food and Drink category, and write a biweekly column called the "Beer Traveller."
