This month (May 2004) marks my second anniversary of being an epinions member. Throughout these two years, I have met many wonderful people through our exchange of comments and ratings. But I have never relinquished my personal information to the public. I guess I must say that I am rather bashful about it; but the truth is that I don't know what to say about myself. So here goes
I am currently a graduate student working to finish my Ph.D degree. For my future career, I hope to get a teaching position at a college or university. At the moment, this plan is very vague, and I cannot be much optimistic about it due to high competitions and few openings. What am I studying? I give you a hint; my heroes are Einstein, Dirac, Feynman, Schwinger, Dyson, Bethe.
My hobby is photography. It has now become my part-time profession. Although my earning through it is mostly with working with peopleportraits, weddings and special occasions, my love of photography is photographing nature. I sometimes aspire to be a nature photographer, but my daily schedule does not allow me much freedom to pursue this love affair. Some of my favorite photographers are Ansel Adams, Frans Lanting, Galen Rowell.
My second hobby is building computers. It may not be my real hobby, because I dont build them for fun, but for people and friends who need them. My studies, my research and my work depend on computers. So I think it is cost effective to custom build my own computers. And this is what I do
out of necessity.
I like to read. Besides reading the subject in the field of my studies, I like to read philosophy. My favorite philosophers are Kant, Hume, Locke, Mill, Berkley. My favorite subject is moral philosophy. I first read the work (and became interested in philosophy) of Jean-Paul Sartre and Socrates.
I like to listen to all sorts of music, ranging from hard rock to classical music. My favorites are the 80s soft and hard rocks: Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Air Supply, Dan Fogelberg, Def Leppard, U2, Enigma, Scorpion, Foreigner, Bangels, etc. My most favorite classical composers are: Bach, Haydn, Schumann, Listz, Mozart, Beethoven, Albinoni, Chopin, Dvorak, etc.
Well, thats all I have to say for now. I will put more on this profile page, as soon as I have more to say about myself.
Therefore, I would like to thank everyone who has visited my reviews (and this personal profile page) and for your comments. And I hope that in some small ways my reviews help with your purchasing decision.
If you have any questions about my ratings on your reviews, please don't hesitate to drop me an email.
