It's a challenge to get across who you are in a short few paragraphs. You'll probably get a better idea of where I'm coming from by reading my opinions, but here's a little background info that may help out.
I grew up in Seattle, but left the Pacific Northwest to go to college in New England (Dartmouth College in New Hampshire). After college I worked in Maine for a while, and now live in the Washington, DC area.
I am currently a producer for television news (hence the username). I travel a great deal for business and pleasure - so Look for my travel epinions - I'll be writing many more as this summer will see me traveling from coast to coast and then some.
I am also an avid reader (which is a good thing since I'm on planes a lot), and will pick up just about any novel if it looks good or has been recommended to me by a friend (or in an epinion!). I read a lot of science fiction, have just gotten into the fantasy genre, and love historical fiction. I also like adventure non-fiction, and have read just about everything I can get my hands on about Mt. Everest.
My favorite hobby is collecting Port (the wine). I started a couple of years ago as an attempt to try and understand at least a little bit about wine, and have become hooked. Epinions currently doesn't have a wine section for port, but I hope to change that. I look forward to learning more about other wines as well - a very daunting task with all the choices out there.
I am working on building my web of trust, and hope that others will trust me as well. I take my web of trust very seriously, and don't someone just because they rate my opinions well (although that is nice!). However, I do read the profiles of those who trust me, and if their epinions are well written and helpful, I will trust them.
