About promethius
I'm a teacher of English as a Foreign Language, and spend much of my time traveling. I used to be a pastry chef, and am the only person I know who reads cookbooks cover-to-cover (though I practically never actually follow a recipe when I cook).

I love learning new things, and I especially love learning about foods from around the world.

I absolutely hate "idiot gadgets" of any kind: software that tries to predict my preferences; car doors that try to keep me from locking myself out of the car; VCRs that start playing before I tell them to; etc. I don't like anything automated, unless I have the ability to program exactly how the automation operates.

I'm a devout hedonist, and you can be sure that if I choose to review a product, it's something that has caused me either pleasure or pain. I'm also a generalist, and do not consider myself to be an expert on anything.
