About ramseelbird
Like so many other Amazon.com reviewers (cue the hisses and cat calls) I was lured to Epinions.com by the promise of intelligent input and responses. For my part, I am currently a children's librarian working for that awe inspiring institution known as the New York Public Library system. I have firsthand knowledge of what the kiddies like to read and what they are forced to swallow for school. In my own time I enjoy both young adult and children's books equally. My reviews are, on the whole, light fluffy affairs. If I enjoy a book I'll take my time praising its many fine qualities. If I loathe a book I'll take an exquisite joy it tearing it into tiny miniscule shreds. And to be perfectly frank, I much prefer giving bad reviews to giving good ones. There's a certain unholy joy that comes with giving a bad book exactly the kind of review it deserves. Unfortunately, the long list of young adult books I've been working through (I only do Young Adult books on Epinions) are usually of excellent quality. I'm afraid you'll mostly be reading positive oh-what-a-lovely-book reviews from me, 99% of the time. If you would like to read my children's book reviews, check them on on my Amazon.com link under Favorite Web Sites. I am delighted to be joining Epinions.com, though I am a little frightened by any site that includes, without irony, something called a "Web of Trust". *shudder*
