My name is Joe a.k.a. Rapfan. And as you can tell by my name i'm a huge fan of rap music. I'm 15 years old, a Sophmore in High School, and i'm also an aspiring MC. Yeah you're probably thinking "well isn't everyone these days?" And you'd be right. But i have the up most highest respect for the hip hop culture and my rules for my lyrics are:
1. If i never lived it i wont brag about it.
2. There are more important things in life then materialistic possesions.
3. Never water down, but at the same time don't seem like a mindless violent gangster out to kill everyone.
4. The longer it takes to write, the better it is.
5. Quality is better than quantity. (If only Lil Wayne knew that).
6. Respect the legends.
7. Feel free to say whatevers on my mind and don't worry about what other people think.
8. Glorify only the finer things of life, and never anything of no importance.
9. Singers sing and rappers rap, only rap and never sing.... because well that's the singers job.
10. (This may sound clich'e but it's also true.) Keep it real. If you're not a gangster don't be a gangster. And if you're not a hard-@ss then don't be a hard-@ss.
These are the rules that i believe should apply to all rap artists. If they abided by them then we wouldn't have so many wack ringtone gimicks out right now.
Aside from rap though. I'm a very passionate guy who speaks his mind and tells it like it is. I live with my wonderful and loving Mom and my not so loving/ not so loving step-father. I wont even give him the respect of capitalising father as he is no where near one. I'm an only child who's main focuses on life is peace and change. I feel there's no better way to achieve that then through the power of music, that's why i'm working on being an MC.
