About reginafug
In early 2008 I expatriated to Angola, Africa, my husband expatriated in late 2007. September 2011, we moved to Lagos, Nigeria and our adventures continue. What an amazing and rewarding journey this has been! We are extremely thankful and fortunate to have the opportunity to see various parts of Africa, and meet people from all walks of life, from all races and religions. We have met so many people whose kindness and friendship will never be forgotten.

The beauty and magic of Africa is now in my blood, like some incurable disease; of that, I am certain, and it gets stronger every day. It is said that those born here are badly affected, and those who visit frequently succumb to this incurable disease.

This inexplicable disease has puzzled people for centuries, and many of them, like the famous explorer David Livingstone, felt the need to come back again and again, each time the need becoming stronger than before.

Repatriation will not be easy, and I’m not looking forward to it… but, luckily, we still have a couple of more years left in Africa, and we can continue to savor its mystery!

One thing I can say, the African country that has impressed me the most is South Africa; it is stunningly beautiful, geographically blessed, and its people are kind and very friendly. I'd spend the rest of my life discovering its beauty!

Living in Angola is not without its challenges and tribulations, but in 2010, we have been traveling outside the capital of Luanda, and what a difference! The vistas are pretty, and the people are so sweet, they're very curious about us, and want to learn about who we are, just like we want to know more about them... but dang it, sometimes language gets in the way, but hand and facial gestures go a long way!

Overall, my husband (Jerry) and I share a passion for traveling, and love to discover new cultures, foods, and just meeting people from other countries.

A collection of favorite places and people!

This amazing photo is my most favorite of all. It was taken with one of those water-resistant, disposable cheap cameras! We'll never forget that day! This was the Cascade Canyon excursion.
