A different way to check out reviews and get six for the price of one.

Apr 29 '00

Today, I checked out all the reviews of the myriad of authors in my personal Web of Trust and then briskly moved over to the “Just In” section of this wonderful site. Unfortunately, the just in section was full of poor articles and many “somewhat recommended” ratings.

So I invented a little game. Now after reading this review if you have already done this, and claim that you are the inventor, well for today, I claim that I invented it.

I began with a review from one of my favorite authors in my WOT and of course read and rated their review. Next, I proceeded to the member ID of the first person who read their review. After reading and rating that review, I proceeded to the second member ID that read that review. Then after reading that review, I clicked on the third member ID that read that review. And so on and so on.

After I read up to the fifth person on the last review, I returned to my Web of Trust, went to the second person on my list, and again began the entire process over again. This little game now offered me the opportunity to read six reviews each time I went back to check out my favorite author’s work. It should also be obvious that you can expand this game past the fifth member ID, but then you need to claim to be the inventor since my rules only go to the fifth person.

The benefit to this is that I have found new authors that have produced quality reviews that quite possibly I would have never seen. Secondly, when I did find an author that I found to be enjoyable I jotted down their ID so that I could go back to their profile and check out other reviews that they have written.

Simply put, each of our Web of Trust is developed based on authors that we find to be respectable and quality writers. The point that I was missing was that I was developing tunnel vision and not allowing others to be respected for their work.

So, as the inventor of this little game of which I give my complete permission for you to use for a nominal fee of free, I hope that this allows you to opportunity to invite new members into your family.
