Enquiring minds want to know
by hhassell99 | Jan 05 '01
My biggest consideration is my web of trust - I always ask myself if I would like my name associated with the epinion rating.

I do hope you have that baby soon! I know how it feels. Wasn't I the lucky one to have my son a week early. Oh well, your baby will be here before you know it. Great job on this, especially the Not Rating section. I have a hard time with that, but sometimes I just have to skip rating something that I totally disagree with.

Nice review. I have been debating forever about writing this one. You said it nicely.
FYI I also wanted to mention that they have two Wahoo locations in Denver now. :)

1) Glad to hear that your never-ending pregnancy may be reaching its terminus.

2) Glad that you and Ryanaugust were patient enough to communicate so civilly to one another. (I just love an averted flame war.)

3) Glad you added that last point about not rating a review. I think too many people feel obliged to rate every review they read. This leads to their NRing something that they really liked because the people who trust them expect them to NR it--or, as you point out, it leads to their HRing something that they can't honestly recommend to other people.

4) I think it's laudable for you to feel a sense of responsibility to those who trust you.

5) Nice work!

Good Review! (Reply to this comment)

By the way, I wrote a winning grant for my former classroom with the same title as you used for this Epinion. I'm glad that someone besides me will sometimes read an article and not rate it at all because it goes against your beliefs, and you may rate it more poorly than perhaps it deserved.

ROFL We must both be in a mood! I didn't take your comment poorly at all - my baby's due date is tommorrow and well, if you have read any of my other epinions you may know that I am growing rather impatient!!! Anyway, quid pro quo - I will go read more of your reviews to make up for making you feel like you had to make up!!!

Hmm, it is obvious that you found this review off of the "just in" page, which is fine, but if you go to the category page for "deciding how to rate reviews" you would see the following in the description area:

Rating reviews is an important feedback loop in the Epinions.com community. What criteria do you use to rate opinions? Are you afraid to rate a poor review "Not Recommended"?

Also, I decided to write this particular piece after seeing others along the same lines in this category. Anyway, thanks for the comment and I hope this clarifies a little bit why I wrote this epinion!
