My 100th Epinion...

Well, I saw a few other members here use there 100th Epinion to write a General Comments review, so I’m doing the same. It seems like a good idea; kind of like a milestone we pass. Here it is…
I have written one other epinion under General Comments before. I plan to reiterate a few points from that one and add quite a bit more.
Editing
First of all, please proofread your work here. It does not take too much effort to reread what you write before you submit it. If you are not sure of the spelling of a word, make the effort to get out your dictionary and check. Or, what I do, type your review in a word processing program like Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, etc. Then copy and paste it to the Epinions.com website.
I can understand if some people misuse certain words that are spelled correctly, but are not used properly. For instance, there and their. Spell check will not catch that kind of an error. But when I see a word like “ot” or something else as nonsensical, I have to wonder how much effort was really put into the review. I know that might sound harsh, but if I see it after reading it one time, you might also if you had read it too. I am not perfect!! I make mistakes often! I appreciate it when someone tells me my errors too!
Comments
Comments can be good and bad. I have gotten both good and bad comments on my reviews. I leave good and constructive comments. Constructive is the key word here! There is absolutely no reason to personally attack another member here! NO REASON WHATSOEVER!!
So a person NRs a review of yours, who cares? That is no reason to attack someone. You would not have written and submitted an epinion unless you felt it was worthy of being there, right? You still get money for that NR, right?
So you don’t agree with someone’s epinion, who cares? Click on the “disagree” button and write your own epinion! Do not attack a person whom you do not even know! There is no excuse for the ugliness I have seen at this site! I know of two people that are members here at Epinions.com that I brought here; they are leaving because of this behavior I’m referring to.
What kind of comments should you leave? Leave comments on reviews that move you. I love leaving comments on reviews and I especially love reading comments from other users, unless they are the type I just mentioned. If you like the review, tell that person. It will make that person feel good! I know I personally will go read a user who left a nice comment to me before reading anyone else who had just rated the review.
If you want to leave a constructive comment, do so, tactfully. Do not call the person a moron or whatever. Just tell them their mistake and leave it at that.
If you do not agree with their review, you can tell that person this detail, but (I cannot say this enough!) do not attack this person for their beliefs. Which brings me to my next point…
Rating
If you are reading an epinion and you just totally disagree, do not NR it just because of this fact. If the review was written well, covered all bases, then it should not be NRed. That is not the proper way to rate. Rate according to content, not whether you agree or not. If you just cannot bring yourself to highly recommend a well written review on something you absolutely disagree with, don’t rate it at all. Just go on to the next epinion. Or better yet, click the “disagree” button and write your own review! It really irks me when people rate this way and I wanted to bring it up here.
Conclusion (sort of…)
Well, I still have more to say on this subject, but I don’t really care for reading lengthy reviews, so I can assume that there are others like me out there. I will end it here for now. I may write another General Comments review to finish up my thoughts about this website. For now, though, I will stop…
