The title of this review is intended to spoof myself and entice you to utilize a wonderful feature inside the profile page of each of your favorite writers.
I just completed my evening reading of the many authors that I enjoy and most of them were not even aware that I was there. As I have stated in past reviews, using your WOT and hanging around the “Just In” section are critical to finding new information and meeting new authors.
Each of us is aware that there is a reciprocal benefit to being one of the first five persons in either the Highly Recommended, Recommended, Somewhat Recommended, or the dreaded Not recommended categories. The benefit is advertising your user name for all other visitors to see. It is true that you can earn several clicks from browsers, but you may not earn their loyalty.
Once you find a author that you trust and look forward to reading their future reviews, Epinions offers a little help. Each members profile page contains the opportunity for you to place them in your WOT. In addition, on this same profile page you can request to receive an Email update each time they write a review. On your own profile page, you have the ability to edit these email alerts as well as review alerts that others have requested in reference to your postings.
This evening I received two e-mails from Epinions, and contained within this e-mail was a total of twenty-six reviews by my favorite authors. Although this system did not earn me top honors on their reviews, it did allow me to read their postings at my leisure.
These updates allow me to keep up with my friends,but the e-mails can be sporadic at times, which is the only unfortunate thing. I would suggest that when you find a new friend and want to read their future postings, request to receive updates. Even if you made the top five on their list…..you may have missed one that will enlighten you.
