Here I come to save the day......

I have just recently read a review by a very good writer who is not being recognized or trusted by many members. He asked for help. I feel it is our responsibility to keep writing these reviews for the newer people on the site. They need help just like we did when we first started.
What is Epinions? Well, my opinion is that this is a community made up of people of all ages, races and creed. Most of the folks here are come for the money but that changes quickly. I know I was looking for a site that offered to pay me for my services. When I heard of Epinions, I thought to myself, that's the kind of place for me. I always enjoyed writing, and, at one point in my life, wanted to write a book. Of course, I am not that talented, but it was a dream nevertheless. I came on the site, started writing, and fell in love with this place. Talk about addiction!
The question that was asked was how this writer could get more people on his Web of Trust. His prior editorials are all highly rated but his WOT is not growing. Here is what I would do if that happened to me (and it did in the beginning).
The first thing you need to do is write a good review on any given subject that Epinions allows you to. Once that is written, look at the people who rated you. Click on their screen name and visit their site. Read their profile page and then their editorials. Rate each one honestly.
If you find that you like the writer after reading several of their reviews, you can trust them or put them on your email alert right from their profile page. In this way, you will be notified when they write a review, and you can read more of their work.
What I did when I began was not only to read and rate the people who rated me, but I clicked on to other screen names that were trusted by others. If you have someone in your WOT, look at their WOT and see who trusts them and whom they trust. Read their reviews and rate them too.
I also hung out at the Just In section of our home page (still do). You are guaranteed to be noticed if your name appears on the front page of the reviewer. At this point, I would urge you to rate honestly. I have heard of one person who rated a reviewer "recommended" because his/her name would not show up on "Highly Recommended" because the list was extensive. True story folks!
Also keep in mind that most people love comments about their reviews. If someone leaves me as comment, I will make sure I visit their pro page and read some of their reviews. Many members in my WOT are there because of their comments written to me. It made me notice their talent for writing.
Keep writing, but don't forget to read and rate others. It pays in the long run. Good luck to all of you!
