I am semi-retired after working for the past 15 years as a field surveyor contracting to the petroleum industry. My wife and I gathered statistical information on proposed new building sites for gas/convenience stores around the country. We traveled heavily all over the country. We were involved with mapping, spreadsheet and database programs and submitted much of the information via computer. Our computer experience has been largely self taught. I have also served as MIS person for a county in which we lived in NC. I typically build my own desktops and buy laptops.
