I came to America from the Philippines about 9 years ago. I am single without kids, so I have a lot of free time for activities!
I studied Computer Science at UCSD, and I work as a freelance programmer and database consultant in Silicon Valley. In my free time, I like to tinker in my personal computer lab -- I have computers set up with different operating systems: Windows, Mac, BeOS, Amiga, Linux (my favorite) and even older softwares.
I love sports. I play roller hockey, surf, and hang glide. I am also into fantasy role playing games, and get together every Thursday night with my playing group.
I took a few film classes at a community college, so I consider myself a film critic (who isn't?). I like action movies, and my favorite actor is Jean Claude Van Damm.
I am also a bookworm. My favorite writers are Michael Crichton, Tom Clancy, and John Grisham.
I like to travel. I also don't like to spend a lot of money. My firends call me cheap. So when I travel, I always am on a budget.
How I Rate Reviews
I rate reviews based on the inforamtion the reviewer gives me. If all you're doing is reciting specs and other information I can find from the company, you're not going to get a good rating from me.
I want useful information about your experience with the product. I want information about your buying expereince. I want information that a consumer needs to know that you can't find from the company. It doesn't have to be negative information, but information that proves that you used the product extensively.
I also don't care if your review agrees with my opinion. If you wrote a good review, you wrote a good review. You may notice that I rated high reviews that disagreed with my own Epinion. Like I said, I rate based upon the quality of your review.
Depending on how well your reviews are written, I will sometimes go and check out the other reviews you've written and rate those as well. I like to reward good work.
At the same time, I hope you judge my reviews fairly. I am not a writer, so I'm not the most eloquent. And sometimes I'm not the most complete, so I expect lukewarm response to some of my reviews, and great response to reviews I put a lot of work into.
