About s_wood

The Basics- I'm a single 23 year old woman from Maine. I work full time for Irving Oil Corporation. I am also putting myself through college part time at the University of Maine Augusta campus, my intended major is graphic arts. I am also in the U.S. Army Reserves as a part of a transportation unit.
Some of my hobbies include hiking, art, dancing, paintball, reading, movies, and jogging.
How I Rate Reviews- Things I consider in a review is general good writing, (spelling, grammar) information, and conciceness. I may not agree with a particular review, though it may not have a bearing on how I rate it. Some reviews I may personally disagree with may have some excellent arguement points or facts. I look for overall quality, and not always the quantity of words.
I am more likely to rate HR on a review if it shows a sincere expression of emotion rather than only basic facts. I believe that feelings are very much a part of writing an opinion. This includes humor, anger, or grief. Let's face it, to be opinionated is to be human and so is expressing emotion.
R's mean that a review shows good intention, and is not poor in quality. It may just be that there might be some minor spelling or grammatical errors. It may also mean that a review didn't tell me everything I wanted to know.
I don't like giving out SR's and NR's, but sometimes if a review is just too short, vague, off-subject, offensive, or contains too many errors, I will give it a SR or NR. Again, it doesn't mean I agree or disagree with a particular subject.
If I happen to to feel strongly about a particular review, (i.e. If I agree or disagree with you about something.) or if I just really enjoyed a review, I will leave a comment.
How I add to my WOT-
If I read several reviews of a particular author and if I like what I read, I may add him/her to my WOT. Very likely, that person is already well-trusted and/or really seems to know what he/she is writing about. As in life, I try to be careful about who I trust, and don't add someone to my WOT just to score "brownie points".
A sincere "thank you" goes out to everyone who has rated my reviews and have added me to their WOT.
As you might guess by looking at my activities, I'm usually a very busy person! There are so many epinions I would love to write, but my time is limited. Although my writing is slow-going, I at least try to visit epinions everyday and check out the latest work by other people.
Latest news- Nothing much, just work, work, work! I have not been called into active duty, at least not yet.
