About seleniumgirl
|
Currently I am a professional singer and graduate student, studying at New England Conservatory. My pursuit? A Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance. My voice classification? Lyric Coloratura Soprano. In coming months, I may be seen in performance as Adina (L'Elisir d'Amore) and as Ophelia (Hamlet) in opera scenes staged by the Opera department of New England Conservatory. During the last four years I have worked for Walt Disney World Entertainment as a performer. I have also sung as soloist with the Texas Chamber Consort, the Austin Vocal Arts Ensemble, the McNeil Musicale, and more than 25 other ensembles. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, and with scholarship support from earlier scientific studies. My background in science includes a three year study of selenosis (selenium toxicity) in Central Texas freshwater envirionments, which allowed me to work with the Lower Colorado River Authority, the Texas Natural Resouce Conservation Commission and the Texas Water Commission. I also presented at the International Science and Engineering Fair in 1993 and 1994, winning second place in Environmental Studies.
