About sharmann
I work 75% time for a family medicine residency program, helping keep the residents on track so they go out into medicine prepared for everything they will be expected to handle. I enjoy spending time with my spouse, young son and daughter, and two Shetland Sheepdogs in a home that we seem to be constantly modifying. I write science fiction, fantasy, and dark fiction, some appropriate for young adults and some very definitely not. Some of my short stories have been published and I am collecting rejection letters on the others as well as on a few novels. I've been an ovo-lacto vegetarian (meaning I do eat eggs and dairy) since October 1993. The older I get, the more concerned I become for our environment and the damage we are doing to it. I enjoy biking (triking), camping and hiking. I suck at cross country skiing and inline skating, but do it anyway. There is often some swearing. I am probably the world's least graceful fifth degree black belt. I teach Shorin-Ryu karate and self defense for women through community education because these skills should be available to anyone, regardless of wealth.
