With movies it's the revealing, and yet not revealing. With other things, show and tell.

About shocker69
|
I've watched more movies than I can count, and own a whole lot more. I read all the reviews from the big critics, and noticed one particular thing that (about 90 percent of the time) bugged me. When a critic sees a movie, he (she) tells about it from his (her) perspective. It's hard for a critic to say anything nice about a movie which he found repulsive, or dumb, or anything negative. In most cases with me, I'll tell the story not only from my side, but try to summarize what another person of maybe a different taste might think of it. I might hate a movie, and yet someone else might think it a great masterpiece. I like Poe (Edgar Allen), and yet I've talked to people who dislike him strictly because he was (by their definition) insane. There are many different tastes in the world, and I try to write so that all tastes might be appealed to, and to note that the up front rating is merely my opinion, and not necessarily what another might think.
I love movies of all kinds, from horror (among my favorites are pretty much anything that Italian film maker Dario Argento has made, as well as movies like Hellraiser, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, When a Stranger Calls Back..etc.) to comedy / romantic comedy (loved Me, Myself, & Irene, Bridget Jones's Diary, as well as things like Exit to Eden, and any Adam Sandler movie) and extends to the far reaches of action and dramas (Titanic, Meet Joe Black and A Civil Action to the Lethal Weapon series, the Mummy 1 & 2, Romeo Must Die..) the list goes on and on.
Who knows what I might like tomorrow, when tomorrow comes, I'll see, but for now, I write on what I know and what I've seen. If you wish to get in contact with me, my e-mail is above. Just put ABOUT REVIEWS in the subject heading, as I don't open anything I don't know. Hope you all like what you read and thanks for visiting.
