After 17 years as a registered nurse, I became disabled from the effects of systemic lupus, fibromyalgia and Interstitial Cystitis. I am now a stay-at-home Mom of one son, 3 1/2 years old and trying to keep up with him is a challenge. I am 42 years old and married for almost 5 years to my husband, Tim. We like to spend our free time as a family, visiting sites in/around our home state of Florida. I also enjoying reading, doing sewing projects for other nurses and making custom made costumes for kids for Halloween and other holidays. I have been nearly financially ruined by my illness and disability and was recently awarded Social SEcurity Disability after a 2 1/2 year fight for benefits. I hope with the extra money that I can now work towards regaining some of my health through aqua therapy, walking and mild exercise.
I also enjoy good movies (usually on videos), listening to good music (jazz, classic rock and classical) and spending as much time as I can with my son.
