I've always enjoyed helping other people, whether they be customers, co-workers, friends, or just people who are interested in some of the products I use and know. I'm glad to join Epinions and share my experiences with others through this forum, as I've been helped by reading reviews here.
I'm a father and husband, and do a lot of "handyman" work, including plumbing and wiring. I like technology toys, but pick them carefully and tend to keep products for many years. At work, I'm a software engineer for a large technology company, developing Fortran compilers, and I volunteer for the Kitty Angels no-kill cat shelter, running their web site and sometimes helping with the cats.
My reviews will tend to be long on substance, short on fluff. I try to write in a readable fashion, but don't let breeziness overpower the facts. Rather than rehash the spec sheet, I'll tell you what it's actually like to use the product, and, where I can, reveal aspects that aren't necessarily obvious at first glance. If there's something I don't like, I'll let you know.
