Hello, and welcome to my profile. I'm a 27-year-old college student and amateur movie buff. As long as I can remember I've loved movies. Epinions offers me the chance to share that interest with others. I only became a serious cinemaphile however in high school. In Grade 9 my English class did a unit on Humphrey Bogart. We were shown four of Bogart's major films; The Maltese Falcon, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Casablanca, and The African Queen, all terrific films. Having to answer extensive questions on the films was an eye opening experience. Later in Grade 12, we did a unit on Citizen Kane which we had to analyze. What a fascinating film that is. Finally, I started hunting down old films at the library and found myself in heaven. The library is an oasis for film buffs.
I generally prefer to review films that have been around for a while and thus have established a reputation. It's older films that deserve to be reviewed more often so we can keep them in the public eye. I try to review as many classics as I can, though I'm not above the occasional "popcorn" flick either. I don't go to the movies as often as many fellow Epinionaters, though I'll usually go to a few a year when I see something that really catches my interest. I love it when people put me on their web of trust, and will usually try to check out that persons site. I also appreciate it when people leave flattering comments on my reviews, so feel free to do so. Regards to all from St. Patrick.
