I speak Southern, know Redneck, took French, German and Spanish because the world is bigger than I am. I believe in civil rights, I know who Miranda and Brady are and I sure will miss them when they are gone. I know that a Learned Hand shaped much of our legal system and his wit is sorely missed. I miss the Court of Earl Warren. I believe in flag burning, protesting and changing the T.V. channel if you don't like what you see.
I believe in a good Margarita on Friday night. I believe the mentally ill ought to be treated like real human beings who are sick and need a friend to hug them and be there for them at their worst. I believe Republicans need to lighten up and Democrats need to settle down. Being reactionary just because you are the minority never advanced any good purpose.
And I believe that just about covers it. I love my country and I love the debate. And when I get tired of the debate or something offends me, I know how to hit the Off button on the remote.
