About tcervo
I'd like to use this space to explain how I rate other reviews.

Highly Recommended: If a review is well written, with useful information that will help me make an informed decision, then I give it a Highly Recommended rating. If it's a book or movie review, I don't want merely a recap of the plot, I wan't specific reasons why you like or dislike it. For any review, I don't have to agree with your rating in order to rate it high. For example, you might give a movie one star because it's full of sophomoric humor. However, I may LIKE sophomoric humor and might therefore find your review helpful.

Recommended: If your review has some useful information but not enough to be convincing, it will get a Recommended rating. Another reason for a Recommended rating, as opposed to Highly Recommended, is a list of opinions with little to explain or back them up.

Not Recommended: You will get a Not Recommended if you don't tell my why you didn't like whatever you are reviewing. I've seen several reviews that simply state, sometimes in 2 or 3 different ways, that something "sucks."

That being said, I've noticed a disturbing trend among some epinions users with regards to rating reviews. There are some users who will rate reviews as Not Recommended, no matter how well written and informative, simply because THEY don't like the product being reviewed. You're not rating the product, you're rating the review. If you don't like the product, write your own review but don't bash someone for having a different opinion. If they are able to express clearly why they like or don't like a product, you should rate their review accordingly.

Happy reviewing.
