I am a single working mom of 2 teenage boys I love spending time with my boys and my family ,chatting online with my loopie friends, searching for frugal living tips and writing about them in my column on Themestream. I also like meeting new people, exchanging ideas and helpful hints.
I am not a professional
I am not a professional writer, or teacher, or business owner. I am just a person who has worked in a few different industries during the last 20 years nursing home, garden center, mother board manufacturer, a job training industry, an alternative learning program, a software distributor, retail clothing store, junk mail ~I mean bulk mail distributor, and a major health insurance company and a major Northeast super market chain. And most recently a nationally known pharmacy.
I have done many jobs. I have been a senior consultant, a data entry clerk, an office manager, a maintence clerk, a supervisor, a nurses aide, a babysitter, a cashier, a cake decorator, a line worker, a packager, a quality control clerk, an assistant manager, a personnel director and pharmacy technician.
I am a published poetess, I have been writing poetry for about 25 years. I was a lousy student who failed English a lot. I was a high school drop out (twice) who went back and got my GED and then when the opportunity arose I re enrolled in an adult diploma program and got my High School Diploma, I have a certificate in Office Procedures but I couldn't tell you the right way to construct a sentence, which tense it correct for which situation, I am not illiterate but usually clueless about punctuation. Does any of this make me a bad reviewer? No because like many folks who come here I am a consumer who knows what works and what doesn't work for me and I want to help others make decisions on bad or good products. I may not know about conjagating verbs or even how to spell it but I know that Neosporin is the best antibacterial cream and is used by four generations of my family~my grandmother, my mother, myself and all my kids (epinion forthcoming). I know I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer and hate NetZero (see my epinions to find out why) but those are just my opinions about things that work or don't work for me and why. I am not a professional product tester ie: I don't work for a company that tests products so I don't know all the right words but I do know if it works for me.
How I Review
A lot of folks have been writing about this. I will be honest, if you are honest with your review and put a lot of time into it ,giving reasons why or why not, if it worked or it didn't I will give you a good review- I do not have to agree with your subject or the outcome (that said I do not endorse products that cause death or that are produced to injure children or adults ie alcohol, guns or illegal drugs or tobacco- I won't read these types of reviews) I don't care about spelling (much) or puncuation (much) but if your review isn't about what is should be or if I can tell it is a bunch of "bull" I will give you a poor review. I do check to see who reviews me and I will read some of your stuff in return, I will leave a comment sometimes but not usually. I will put you on my alert list though.Update 7/07/01 I have not been able to review as I have been working 12 hour days lately. I do hope to be back writing and reading and reviewing soon.
