THE WORK PUBLISHED UNDER EPINIONS USER ID THOM413 IS THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OF THOMAS N. TRONOLONE. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
Married for 6 amazing years to the Finest of NYPD's Finest, the best guy ever in the world. Even if he is a bit of a slob. I love you honey, wet towels on the bathroom floor and all.
The above quote from Hamlet has special meaning for me. I have been lucky enough to have several good friends in my life, and some that have taught me - the hard way - to ration out my trust and generosity. This is a learning experience that I am still working on. There is another quote that means a lot to me - "Friends are God's way of apologizing for our families." I don't know the source, and my Bartlett's Familiar Quotations doesn't list it, but I'd guess Mark Twain. I welcome e-mails from anyone who can put a source to it.
Why I Joined Epinions - I think it's wrong for a company to sell a product or service without accountability. Smart consumers should compare notes to make sure that the best companies succeed and the rest fail. I have a law degree, but I do not practice law. Instead, I use it to keep my friends and family from being ripped off. Insurance companies fear me, and I'm sure that several HMOs want me dead. This must mean that I'm doing something right. By day, I work at a stock brokerage house, keeping the sales force honest. If you have a problem with an insurance company that won't pay a valid claim, or an HMO that is denying care that your doctor says you need, or a broker who is running wild with your assets, contact me at Thom413@aol.com for some brief free advice.
Why I Stay at Epinions It ain't the money, honey. I just like to write about what I think, and to read what others think.
More on me I am a Christian, but with a few caveats:
1.) I do NOT pronounce "Jesus" as "JUH-HEEEEEZUS!!!", nor do I require a crash helmet to attend services. Rather, I view Christianity as the practice of integrating his teachings into my everyday behavior.
2.) If YOU are NOT Christian, that's okay with me. I don't think you're bad, or on the precipice of brimstone burning perdition. I don't even think you're on "simmer". Why? Well, religion is a deeply personal choice, and I would never impose my beliefs on anyone else. That would be... uh, UnChristian. From a purely philosophical standpoint, all that pontificating and proselytization defies something I REALLY believe in - free will. Rational debate, on the other hand, is my raison d'etre.
