I am lucky enough to be writing software, something I consider recreational and would do in my free time if I had any, for a living. I live in Melbourne, FL, in the heart of the Space Coast. I am a current annual pass holder at Walt Disney World, which is about an hour and a half drive from my home.
I joined Epinions looking for another money-making scheme. Originally I had difficulty figuring the whole thing out (and in fact there are still things that confuse me once in a while). I finally sought advice from my referrer, KCFemme, who not only answered my questions, but also gave me a taste of the whole "community" thing that goes on here. I've found that as time has gone on, I've begun to care less about the money, and more about making a contribution. (A good thing, considering the state of online advertising these days).
Basically, I follow a couple of self-imposed rules in my reviews. First of all, I try to write about things that I have either extensive, or very recent experience with. Secondly, I shy away from things that I would rate as "mediocre". Unless I have a strong reaction to something, either negative or positive, I find I don't have anything interesting to say.
Lately I've been working on a series of articles on Walt Disney World attractions. I chose this topic because my experiences as an annual pass holder, and frequent guest, have endowed me with certain "lessons learned" that would have been really useful to have learned before my first visit. Since most people don't go to Disney every couple of weeks like I do, the kind of advice I offer I think should be valuable to the once in a lifetime, or even once a year Disney vacationer.
