About toiletoctopus
Toiletoctopus? Who on Earth would use that as their user name on Epinions.com? I have received this question so many times, and I don't think there's anything wrong with my sanity...yet. I have my lovely wife to thank for that, as she has been the inspiration for many of my better ideas. A few years ago, I decided to buy her a stuffed animal octopus while at the National Aquarium. I thought she would like it, as it was beautiful-orange with yellow spots, and huge protruding eyes. It seemed like a no-brainer romantic gift, and I figured she would be very appreciative. I came home to bring her this wonderful gift, and her reaction shocked me. She said, "I don't like it."
I was disappointed, and bordering on being devastated. It would have been smart to have brought her home a dozen roses, but here I was with this stupid octopus. Finally, after what seemed to be more than the usual moment of silence, she looked at me with a stern look that could raise the Titanic. "Where did you get this, from the toilet?" I busted out laughing, and it made for a funny afternoon. While she has still not totally warmed up to the stuffed animal octopus somewhere in a plastic bag downstairs, it has come up from time to time.
So what does a guy named Mike, with the user name Toiletoctopus enjoy? Other than spending time on Epinions and browsing the web,(perhaps the greatest invention ever)I enjoy outdoor activities. If I didn't have to work for a living , I would spend almost everyday hunting and fishing. My retirement plan is such, but it will have to wait. I also like spending time camping, biking, white water rafting, downhill skiing, and hiking with my sometimes loyal Chinese Sharpei.(If I have food she's by my side, if not she's in her doggie bed or elsewhere) Mike
