My name is Terrie. I am a pagan whose spiritual practice centers around the contemplation, experience and pursuit of Beauty, reverence for and care of the Green World, service to and exploration of the Web of Life.
I am a Pisces with a Sagittarius Moon and Taurus rising. I am an Astrologer and I read Tarot.
I have 3 cats, Najai, Lily and Firefly. Please spay or neuter your pets. Many of the ones that are already born have it very hard. Adopt a cat only if you can offer a loving home for life.
I have four adult sons and a beautiful little grandson named Oscar. I live at the river's edge where it gently bends into a lily-pad crowded lagoon. I have weeping willows and Canada geese for neighbors. Cormorants, white pelicans and great blue herons nest in a thin peninsula that forms the lagoon. My home is on the site where the indigenous people camped in the days preceding the 'signing' of the Treaty of the Cedars that stole four million acres of their lands in Northeastern Wisconsin and forcibly relocated them to a tiny reservation. There is a big historical marker that I can see from my home commemorating this white man score as though it is something of which to be proud and I find it very offensive.
I love reading, gardening, cooking, art, poetry, magic and many different kinds of music. I am interested in children's literature, antique glassware, toys, rocks and minerals, the fair, respectful and compassionate treatment and rights of non-human people, traveling, Native American culture and history, especially of the people of the Great Plains, and Celtic culture and history. I do rescue work with abandoned and feral cats. I love holidays and celebrating the seasonal changes.
Politically, I am very far left of center. I am radically liberal. I just think we live on an abundant and beautiful planet and we should share it while respecting our fellow beings and taking good care of each other and our home. I think most of our problems can be traced to fear and that love can conquer fear if given half a chance. I want Dennis Kucinich to be the next President of the United States.
I have a huge pagan garden featuring a sacred circle with a World Tree Ash and white flowers at its center. I grow dozens of lovely perennials, annuals, flowering spring bulbs, vegetables, pumpkins and sacred herbs as well as several of the nine sacred woods. A graceful little male gingko tree blesses our garden, too. Birds and raccoons and an occasional deer and feral cat visit my home to enjoy my garden's bounty.
One of my favorite places in the whole world is Wales. I haven't been there in a long time but a part of my soul is always there with my family and ancestors. Prince Edward Island is another beautiful place with which my soul resonates. Other favorite places are the Badlands and the sacred Paha Sapa of South Dakota. I love Wyoming and Montana with a passion. I have visited 45 of the 50 states (See map below) as well as England, Wales, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick. Some day I would like to visit Scotland, Greece, Malta, France, Mexico and Nova Scotia.
I had three kidney surgeries in 2007 and another in 2008. I also got divorced in December of 2007. I never wanted to be divorced but I am adjusting as best I can. I thank Goodness for my friends and family and I look to the future with hope.

A seed about Tree:
Some have a style that they work hard to define,
So they walk a crooked line.
But she won't understand why anyone would have to try
To walk a line when they could fly.

"Nature forms us for ourselves, not for others, to be, not to seem." _Michel Eyquem
Then I was standing on the highest mountain of them all, and round about beneath me was the whole hoop of the world. And while I stood there I saw more than I can tell and I understood more than I saw; for I was seeing in a sacred manner the shapes of all things in the spirit, and the shape of all shapes as they must live together like one being. And I saw that the sacred hoop of my people was one of many hoops that made one circle, wide as daylight and as starlight, and in the center grew one mighty flowering tree to shelter all the children of one mother and one father. And I saw that it was holy.___Black Elk
Please take a moment and visit Friends of the Pine Ridge Reservation website. For less than a dollar you can lend a helping hand to one of the poorest communties in the United States. Please be as generous as you can and help the Lakota Nation.
Some seeds about trees:
Keep a green tree in your heart and perhaps the singing bird will come.
Trees serve as homes for visiting devas who do not manifest in earthly bodies,
but live in the fibers of the trunks and larger branches of the trees, feed from
the leaves and communicate through the tree itself. Some are permanently
stationed as guardians of sacred places.
__Hindu Deva Shastra, verse 117, Nature Devas
In earth and water will you grow. In the air will your leaves speak
as you reach towards the fire of the sun. We respect and honour
and admire you, O tree, and all trees, for you represent both
Peace and Power - though you are mighty you hurt no creature.
Though you sustain us with your breath, you will give up your life
to house and warm and teach us. We give thanks for your blessing
upon our lives and upon our lands. May you fare well in this
chosen place. Awen.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.__Joyce Kilmer
I frequently tramped eight or ten miles through the deepest snow to keep an appointment with a beech tree, or a yellow birch, or an old acquaintance among the pines.__Henry David Thoreau
Here are the states I've visited shown in red. I was enroute to Florida and the Carolinas when I was in a bad car accident in New Orleans and I never made it there. Someday, I hope.
