I hold the following certifications:
Certified Information Systems Auditor
Certified Novell Engineer - 4 and 5
MicroSoft Certified Systems Engineer - Windows 2000
CompTIA Network Plus
I have a B.A. in Computer Information Systems (1998), and an A.A.S. in Criminal Justice (1991). I am currently working on my MBA through Cardinal Stritch University.
I retired from the Minnesota National Guard with over 20 years of US Army service, counting active duty and reserve time.
I love books and movies.
I don't like to give away too much information on the story in my book or movie reviews, because the joy of these is in the experience. I don't watch previews until after I have seen a movie. (I usually walk out of the theater and get my popcorn or use the bathroom when the previews start). I avoid professional movie reviews and talk show appearances where the star shows a clip or talks about the plot of the show.
I want the first time I see the story to be a fresh experience. I do like to see a good movie more than once, or reread a good book when I get a chance. You can get a lot more out of the story a second or third time through.
If you want a synopsis of a movie, read a review that includes Major Plot Details, or see or read a professional review. Most of my movie reviews will give you a thumbs ups or thumbs down, and maybe a few basic ideas. Many a good movie has been spoiled by a preview that gives away all the plot twists and the ending. You can read my reviews before you see the movie and not lose anything.
Epinions rating in my mind go like this:
Very Helpful = A
Helpful = B
Somewhat Helpful = D
Not Helpful = F
Personally, I would rather you not rate my opinion (a C) than give me a SH.
I like to travel. I don't get to do that as much as I would like.
