About Versius
|
I write how to manuals and info packages covering a wide variety of areas. My primary focus is on the ecologically conscious (and profitable) recycling of electronics and computer equipment. All other sources of precious metals and, well, metals in general are also quite interesting.
My previous experience has been primarily in computers. I started off in 1985 (when I was 8) and have been playing with them ever since. I build or upgrade 50 or 60 systems during an average month (mostly for friends, family or my own businesses). My experiences may or may not qualify me as an "expert," but I think I can safely say that I know what works well most of the time. I have owned and operated two chains of PC repair centers as well. My certifications (which are pretty much all out of date now, alas)included the MCSE, A+, CNE and several others. I was an instructor at the local Vo Tech in Computer Repair for at one time.
I've worked in many different areas, including industrial automation, powerplant construction, refineries, mining applications, pipelines, the oilfield and various manufacturing related industries. Currently, I work as a Safety & Efficiency Consultant or Freelance Heat Stress Technician. I also own (with two partners) a bar, a surplus outlet, a cell phone store and we are looking to open our first restaurant within the next few months. And, I have a few hundred websites and my ebay business.
When I find free time, I enjoy experimenting. I build wind generators, work on concept batteries, play with stirling engines and hydrogen power, make biodiesel, run an ethanol still (fully legal and not for drinking, lol) and just generally fiddle with anything related to chemistry and/or physics.
I generally read a novel each night before bed and hope to soon find the time to review some of them here on epinions.
I basically try to keep busy and often do so to the detriment of some of my extracurricular activities, as I run short on time.
I've never been married and probably won't ever be. Truth be told, I haven't even been on a date in close to 10 years. I'm the guy is who always the "best" friend.
