About VictorY.
Above: Jason Scott Lee
Lemme explain the picture of Jason Scott Lee. Once in a conversation with some friends of mine the topic was: "Our Lives as a Movie" The question of casting came up - who would we want to play our role. One of my friends said she'd pick Jason Scott Lee to play my part.

Not Pictured: Me
If somewhere on your way to this page you noted the name given me by my parents, you probably have deduced why my login name is what it is. If you care to hear it (and even if you don't), I offer the more detailed story:

In ninth grade we were asked for baby pictures to submit for the yearbook. I obliged and wrote Victor Y. on the back of my picture to identify myself. When the yearbook was published, my name was misprinted Victory. That gave me the idea to sign "VictorY." for informal letters, email and the like. Some friends caught on, others realized it spells "victory" only recently - go figure.

Currently I am unemployed which, theoretcially, should leave me ample time to write for epinions. In June 2000, I left an engineering job with The Boeing Company to begin grad school this fall at the University of Colorado in Boulder. I'm hoping my skiing interest listed below will come into play (I just bought a new pair of Kneissl Ergo Race skis - perhaps a review after their first day of use).

To my friends
Finally to any of my friends who may be reading this (some of you have heard this):

"We cherish our friends not for their ability to amuse us, but for ours to amuse them."
-Evelyn Waugh (1903-66) English Novelist

Leave of Absence
July 4, 2000
As I prepare to move from Seattle to Boulder - the long way - I'll be packing up my computer and so will be off epinions for a little while. See you all in a few weeks.

My Return
July 24, 2000
I have arrived in Boulder and I'm back on epinions! I begin my graduate student career here at the University of Colorado in about a month when classes resume. Until then, I should have some free time to catch up on epinions.
