After 13 yrs of globe trotting in the name of scientific research, I'm trying to re-adapt to life in small town USA. These days I'm a Systems Consultant for the KY Governor's Office for Technology. I'm married to a wonderful woman who also happens to be a Civil Engineer for the State Transportation Cabinet. We are both blessed with a beautiful, intelligent and well adjusted 5 year old girl who has the best of both of our intellects and the worst of both our tempers. ;)
Two years ago I was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. It was a major shock and certainly stands as the most life-changing incident I've ever experienced. Other forms of cancer may be more deadly and 'popular' but TC has a tendency to be ignored until it has spread throughout the body. Men, take a minute or two a month to perform a self exam. If you feel something wrong, *PLEASE* go see your doctor. It is nothing to be embarrassed about.
It helped me to see that the people I care about the most were also the ones I was spending the least amount of time with. Work was the driving force in my life. That has changed. Now my family is my top priority and I appreciate every day that I am allowed to kiss my wife and daughter good night.
I try to write about things that mean something to me or my family. I'll never pull punches and I'll always tell it like I see it. You may not always like what I say. That's okay. That's part of living in the greatest country in the world (IMHO).
