I am not like many reviewers here on epinions.com. I typically try hard to write a meaningful review based on experience with the product/service in question. In general, if I review it, I OWN it. If you ever want to know more about one of the products I reviewed - drop me a line - I will always attempt to answer your questions. Some reviewers out here (for instance mkaresh) don't own most of what they review. Honestly, a 20 minute test drive is worthless at evaluating a car beyond what any smart car buyer should be able to pick up themselves. Give me reliability information - how it behaves on a long trip - anything better than "so I took a Acura TL for a spin around the block - pay me EPinions.com!"
I am a fairly tough critic of products - with a flair for the overly dramatic. Meaning, I sometimes make gross overstatements to lay home a point I feel that is important. For instance, in a recent review of a Sony DVD recorder, I suggest as a negative that the unit has "playback quality below that of a $60 dollar standalone DVD player." My intention is to be a bit funny (mostly sarcasm). I didn't actually compare this to $60 dollar players - but I do know that my DVD player retails for $150 and can be found for less on the web - and it had better playback quality than the $700 dollar recorder I saw with the same DVD. Just an example - don't take everything I write literally.
As for who I am in normal life (without the cape and mask :) -- I am a mechanical engineer currently working in the research and innovation field. I work in the fitness equipment industry - although you will note that I haven't written a single review of fitness equipment as I feel my job unfairly biases my opinion. Aside from being an avid Camaro enthusiast (I own a 1969 RS), I like to golf, ski, watch DVD movies, hang out with friends, and play games - both PC and PS2. I am currently engaged to be married so I am knee deep in wedding plans - if you here a call for help - that's me up to my neck in those plans a few months from now :)
