Frank was born longer ago than he cares to remember (actually 1959) in Indianapolis, where his mother dragged him as a young child to time trials for the Indianapolis 500 race. He spent the days with his hands over his ears and has hated the race ever since. The family moved to southern Indiana, and, a week after his 9th birthday, to Chicago's northwest suburbs, where he has lived ever since. But Mt. Vernon, Indiana, will always be home. Frank had 12 years of Catholic schooling, which probably helps explain why he is now an agnostic. His father died during his freshman year in high school, which the doctors said helped lead to his two months in a mental hospital during his junior year. Frank is one of four siblings. The others are married, but Frank has yet to find the right man to share his life with. Applications are now being accepted. He is the very proud uncle of Henry, now 5 years old, and Margaret (Maggie) now 2 years old. Hardly a day goes by that Frank doesn't remember and miss his grandparents. They helped mold him in so many ways, including teaching him to read when he was 3 years old. They used a missal and a TV Guide, which probably explains why he still watches TV religiously. The next year his grandfather bought him his first comic book- a Batman 80 page Giant- thus starting a comic book reading habit that lasts to this day. And, yes, Batman is still his favorite. He considers as his best writing the eulogy he wrote and delivered for his grandfather. He also misses terribly his dear companion of over 20 years, his cat Fleetwood Coupe de Ville who died Sept. 1999. He now shares his home with a cat named Cleo. One thing Frank learned from his grandfather is that we are put on this earth to help those who need our help. He tries to follow those words, and is especially grateful for having had the opportunity to work with the annual Twin Cities-Wisconsin-Chicago AIDS Ride for many years. He was a rider year one, and since then was involved in each of the first 6 rides as a volunteer, a rider or a crew member.
Also, check out the link for Northwestern University's A&O Film Board's annual B-Fest. Guaranteed the most fun one can possibly have in a single weekend! I've done 17 out of 21 of 'em!
