Pros: well-organized, user friendly site, listing fees decent Cons: not enough traffic, fickle bidders
I've sold items at both Amazon and Ebay, and although I like the setup of both auctions, I've found time and time again that items sell better at Ebay. There just isn't enough traffic at the Amazon auctions. It is obvious that...

Pros: Easy to navigate, more selection than most Cons: Some products need to be banned, prices seem a bit high
I'm a bit lukewarm about Amazon Auctions for a few reasons. I'm used to eBay and the mind-boggling number of items found there. Amazon has a good many listings, but not as many as eBay and, in my opinion, the prices aren't quite as low. I want fantastic...

Pros: Cheap Listing Fees Cons: poor navigation, hidden fees, low amount of buyers and reputable sellers, poor merchandise selection.
Overview
I have bid an avid auction buyer for a few years. I do most of my shopping on E-bay (I didn’t write an opinion on E-bay because there are already so many and I have nothing to add, but I rated them 5 stars), and basically have...

Pros: Cheap to list an item. Chances are if you bid on something, you'll win it. Cons: Not much traffic and the selection isn't too thrilling.
What will I ever do with all of these slow auction sites?
While there is nothing wrong with Amazon itself, they just don't put enough energy (especially advertising energy) into the auction part of their site.
Tell me the truth, when you think of...

Pros: Can list up to 40,000 auctions a month for a fee of $39.95 Cons: Lack of buyers
I have been an online auction seller for 2 years, and am writing a review of my experiences with each site. I will list the other sites at the bottom of this review, and I will write the reviews as I have time.
I try other auction sites from...

Pros: More Profitable for Sellers; Classier Products for Buyers Cons: Ebay is Thriftier
When you think amazon.com you think of books, so why should their auction site be any different? Amazon auctions share their parent's marketing strength. Amazon's auction site definitely takes a backseat to Ebay when it comes to general items, but if I...

Pros: Excellent website, easy to use Cons: As with anything, buyer/seller beware of other people
I have been using the Amazon.com auctions for about a year now. I have successfully completed at least 20 transactions. I chose this auction because I was already a member of Amazon.com for other items like books and movies. I LOVE their site! ...

Pros: great deals on hard to find items Cons: items may never arrive
I was initially intrigued by the concept of on-line auctions. As a movie buff, and collector of laserdiscs I thought this would be a great way to find rare and esoteric titles that I had been unable to lay my hands on previously.
So, I gave...

Pros: Cheaper listing fees Cons: Not as much traffic, yet!
I've been an online auction user for awhile. I started buying on Ebay. I began selling on Up4Sale (a free site, that was bought out by Ebay). I then stumbled upon Amazon auctions. I am VERY happy with them.
While Amazon doesn't get the...

Pros: easy to use credit cards Cons: limited but growing selection
I've spent time on almost every auction site on the 'Net (both large and smaller, specialized auction sites), and while Amazon doesn't have the breadth of Ebay's offerings, it is the best auction to use if you want to use a credit or debit card--and if...

Pros: Easy to navigate site, the 'name' of Amazon, plenty of site traffic Cons: Not quite as good as eBay, Too many back out buyers
Everyone has things hidden away that they would like to sell and probably a couple of years ago may have just loaded it into the car and taken then to the local ‘Boot Sale'. Now that we are an internet-savvy society there is a second - and much more...

Pros: easy to use, everything arrived in excellent condition Cons: none
I did a great deal of my 1999 Christmas shopping at Amazon.com's Auction site. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease with which my transactions were processed. I bid on relatively small and inexpensive items at first--Beanie Babies for my children and...

Pros: Great way to sell used books & CDs, quick & easy to list items Cons: 15% + $1 commission, poor customer service, $2 credit for s&h does not cover costs
Yahoo's biggest advantage was that it was totally free when compared with the other two.
This was wiped out in Jan 2001 when they imposed a listing fee starting at over $0.25 - $2.
I don't mind paying for a successful auction but I do mind...

Pros: They have listings for rare and out of print books for very affordable prices Cons: I didn't know about it until I found it by accident
I'm not big on auction sites. I've had bad experiences. I was looking for some out of print books, which are nearly impossible to find. I ran the yahoo search engine with the author of some of the books I was looking for and one of the places that...

Pros: Auction scheduling, Amazon Payments (1-click payment) Cons: No "deals", fewer buyers, sellers with high reserves
The most important feature of an auction site is traffic. The most important qualifier of that feature is that they truly are interested. Unfortunately, although Amazon has done a good job delivering traffic to their auction site, both by direct...
