Didn't this site used to be great? What happened?
It's so...complicated...now. Type in "Where can I find a free email account?" and you get taken all over the place. There are so many options (and half of them have nothing to do with what...

Being fairly proficient with the web, when I go to a search engine I'm trying to find out something obscure. So when I go to askjeeves.com, they usually aren't much of a help.
For example, I live in Italy and have an FPO/AP address, but I...

I've been on the internet since the early 90's and have tried numerous search engines.
Askjeeves doesn't have enough search results on a single page. It also pulls up so many sites that are irrelivant to your search words, based on linking a...

Pros: Easy, fast, very helpful! Cons: none that I can think of
Every time I need to search for something either for school, or my own personal use, the only site I ever use is Askjeeves.com. The site is simple and very easy to use-- you just type in a question, and "Jeeves" answers the question by presenting...

Pros: You can ask a question in plain English. Cons: You don't have many links after hitting "ASK".
After years of surfing the web and using search engines, I stumbled across an article for an engine called askjeeves.com (now, ask.com). The article stated that all you had to do is type in a question in plain English and Jeeves would figure out what...

Pros: Occasionally comes up with a useful link or two. Cons: Very frustrating to use; results are off-topic and unhelpful overall.
AskJeeves sounded like a neat little concept when it was first introduced. The idea of "asking" a butler, Jeeves, questions instead of punching keywords into a search form seemed more personal and fun. But in actuality, AskJeeves is, I have...

Pros: Doesn't give thousands of links; only ones that may be relavant Cons: Operates with frames, which can be annoying at times
We can't always know what we want all the time. For those rare instances when I know exactly what I want out of the internet, I go, like most of the rest of the world, to www.google.com. Hey, if Google can find MY website, they can find anything...IF you...

Pros: Fast and Fun Cons: Not many choices for your answer.
Back in the day when Ask Jeeves was just an infant the site was GREAT. Searches back then were very accurate. Actually, among all the other "big dogs" Jeeves was the most accurate I had found. Also, the site had more "answers" to choose from.

Pros: You get a lot of hits that don't have anything to do with your question. Cons: you get a lot of links not pertaining to your question
I have tried ask Jeeves several times, although it doesn't always answer your question exactly, sometimes it does give you the answer you are seeking. I have found it very useful when doing a crossword puzzle and can't find that one answer that will...

Pros: Intuitive, ask and ye shall receive (usually) and then some Cons: can return with non-associated hits
I first used Ask Jeeves about a year ago.
Until then I generally used yahoo or dogpile for my
searching on line.
I was taking a course and a class mate suggested that I try
Ask Jeeves for my search instead of using YAHOO...

Pros: Decent search engine once you get the hang of it. Cons: Not many people get the hang of it.
I've heard many opinions of this site and the service that it provides, both from users online and acquaintances "irl". I've even seen the commercials on the telly: a middle school girl walks along the street followed at a respectful distance by the...

Pros: Plain-Language search. Just ask a question. Cons: Sometimes, Jeeves gets confused.
Well, you have to admit, it's a good idea. Wouldn't we all love it if computers were just a little more plain-language fluent? That's why I used to use Ask Jeeves. I likes just asking a simple question and getting a direct answer. But, sometimes...

Pros: You can use plain english Cons: Off topic results, broken links, overal poor performance
Ask Jeeves' main attraction is that you can use plain english to ask questions in question form. Now this sounded great to me. I could type something like "What is the meaning of life?" and sure enough I got results for it on the meaning of life. Soon...
