Pros: Fast service, Full resolution viewing, Free unlimited online image storage Cons: Only JPEG's accepted, Inconsistent photo finishing
Club Photo is one of the fifteen online digital photography sites currently listed on Epinions.com. under “Household Services”. I recently spent a Sunday evening by joining five of the sites, uploading photos and ordering prints and enlargements from...
Ever since Ive started using a digital camera, Ive been looking for the perfect place to get my pictures printed. Printing them out on my home printer just doesnt cut it. I want my pictures to look like I took them with a film camera....
Background Like the typical young male, I didn't get into photography until I was a little older. I didn't purchase my first "real" (eg. one that cost more than $100) till I was over 25, and that was a APS camera. I've recently moved on to ...
My eyes were opened to this online photo store when a friend of my told me they were headquartered here in Austin, so I was anxious to try them out. I got married back in December so I figured the best test would be using them for my wedding photos and I ...
Club Photo is Gone For those of you that reviewed Club Photo, and are current users, know that it is gone, and perhaps along with all your pictures and memories. I liked the service, but didn't even know that it was going under until I went to ...
Pros: Customizable albums, personalized "home page" Cons: Poor print services
In a nutshell, ClubPhoto offers terrific flexibility in customizing online photo albums, and it provides an extensive variety of photo gifts. On the other hand, its print services are hard to use and the print quality is nothing to get excited...
Pros: Great Organization and good prices Cons: Site has design flaw
ClubPhoto.com
This site is another Photo Sharing site. But this one is by far the best-organized and easiest to use. No extra clutter, just straight to what you want. Creating, maintaining and using photo albums is very easy. A new user...
Pros: Speed, Print Quality, Features Cons: Processing Fee
I have had the opportunity to test a number of different online photo sharing and developing sites, both for personal and job research, and have been impressed by many of the services. I wrote an opinion on ofoto, which I still believe is one of the...
Pros: Feature not found elsewhere Cons: None so far
While there are many online photo sites to choose from, Club Photo has been leading the way with features and services that you won't necessarily find anywhere else. This combination of features is what leads me to use their site most often.
Pros: photo reprint and gift options Cons: expensive, poor customer service
Forget the fact that they started charging (no big deal). This site has gotten a million times worse in the last year. What's wrong? Poor customer service (can I get an email response over here?). Crazy bugs that screw up your photos. And a whole...
The photo I wanted to reproduce was 2300 pixels on the long side. The ratio was 3:4, and I was not willing to crop anything in order to fit a predetermined large-print format. I visited several photo sites but could not find a size ratio that matched ...
I have used the Kodak Gallery (used to be called Ofoto), Shutterfly, and Club Photo. Frankly, I haven't found much difference in the print quality amongst the 3. I've purchased hundreds of prints for myself and family in the last year and they all seem ...
I wanted to print a 24x36 inch poster-sized enlargement from an 8 MP digital camera. Most online stores such as Snapfish and Shutterfly did not offer poster sizes beyond 20x30. I was able to sign up for an account, upload my photo, and process my order ...
Pros: Many features/easy to use Cons: Had trouble figuring out Living Album software (not required to use)
Club Photo is definitely ahead of the curve with the variety of features it offers users. Yes, it's easy to create and view albums, which is the foundation of any photo sharing site. But Club Photo goes the extra mile. It's taking advantage of the shift...
Clubphoto.com is best suited for online albums where one already has both the pictures developed and scanned already. They don't have much in terms of in-house scanning and developing, but they'll happily convert one of your prints into a delicious (but...
Pros: Easy of use Cons: ads are always a con, but these aren't too intrusive
Are your friends and family complaining about all the huge jpeg files you send them? This is the perfect compromise. Club Photo makes uploading files so easy you can do it while carrying on an IM chat with someone on the side. The browse function...
Pros: Fast and reliable service Cons: takes away from quality
This is obviously a very helpful techonology. However, compared to actually having it printed at a store, it doesn't list up that high on my list. I have only done this once because I wanted to see the quality of the pictures. I recieved the pictures...
Loved them. Hated them. They completely missed my Holiday Deadline. by gehe ,Apr 05 '04
I was a long time and satisfied customer of club photo recommending it to all my friends and Mac buddies. (Even over the expensive iPhoto Mac service). The quality was great, the pricing was the best and I never had a problem. Until I ordered my annual Holiday Photocards 2003. This time, they never arrived. I had requested overnight, e-mailed them after a week, e-mailed them again and again and they never responded. (Actually, they have never responded to any of my password problem e-mails either). I finally canceled the order December 17th after I had constantly tried to reach them on their always busy phone number. After the Holidays the customer service folks told me on the phone that they had been swamped, I should have ordered them in October and that they did reply to my e-mails (?!) Bottom line. I never was able to send out my 2003 photocards and I will never use this service again. They is too much good competition out there.
CLUBPHOTO SHUT DOWN IN MARCH 07! TERRIBLE ETHICS! by little-ducky ,Apr 19 '07
Clubphoto closed without any warning to its customers in March 2007. Many people lost all of their photos.
I have been reading that a big company bought clubphoto and blew all the $ on fancy printing machines, then fired the staff, and finally shut down the servers. Some customers had placed orders that were charged onto their credit cards but haven't received their orders.
It's heartbreaking and infuriating. If only they would leave their servers up for a few weeks for everyone to retrieve their files.
DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!!!!!! by andikurgan ,Apr 23 '07
I can't believe they shut down without any notice. As one of the previous reviews reads, very unethical! I have been a customer for over 4 years and all my pictures are lost. I have so many memories in those pages, all gone!
Say it isn't SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by erayla ,Apr 26 '07
Say it isn't SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do wedding photography and for years I've allowed my brides, their family, and friends to order straight from Club Photo at great prices.
I now have brides calling me about the orders they have placed and not received. Plus I had 1000's of images (25 to 30) that are now gone. It will take me weeks to upload to another server.
I don't know why they could not have said " We're going out of business and you have 30 days to save your images."
I would love to know who made the call!! I would like to spit some tobacco in that dude's eye.
I have been a member of Club Photo for 5 years. I just got back from a vacation and wanted to upload my photos. Much to my amazement, the site is "under construction" and I cannot get hold of them. They are not even listed anymore on a google search for internet photo processing! Luckily, I have all my photos on my iPhoto but all those albums I uploaded and have not ordered are useless not. I just upgraded to platinum also! I can't believe they didn't alert their customers. Don't know what is going on with them. The past six months their site was very unreliable. do not use them if they ever come back online!
Club Photo was once a revolutionary website, offering a host of wonderful services. However, as of late you cannot get an order processed and they will not return email. In fact, my email bounced back as undeliverable. Their online form does not work either - and the website is down a great amount of the time.
Very inconsistent and frustrating by krsteinb ,Apr 17 '07
I too have been a member for many years and have seen the deterioration of service from Club Photo. When the site is up and working, it is great. When it is down (or is it now dead??), it is impossible to contact Support. As of the last few days the site is totally absent - This time I will probably go with another service, probably Kodak or Shutterfly. I am really tired of the inconsistencies in availability and service. KR
I ordered a large print from a .jpg file. The print I received was very, very dark and was totally unusable. I complained to their Customer Service and was told that they believed it was printed correctly. They told me that my monitor is at fault even though I told them that the photo looks fine on 3 different monitors and on two inkjet printers. After some hassle I did get a refund of part of the cost. They don't seem to want to improve their service to deliver a quality product.
