Pros: Cheap, extensive search engine Cons: Takes a few practices to learn the site
Do you need a plane ticket to Myanmar next week? Or to Milwaukee in 4 months? Where in the world do you find the cheapest ticket in town?
Go to Expedia.com. Expedia.com is a website created by Microsoft specifically for booking airline...

Pros: Easy to use. Excellent quality of info. Cons: Only deals with major airlines. Doesn't include special discounts.
Finally! The power to do our own flight planning is here! For years now, we've had to deal with the inconvenience of either calling every airline, trying to get the best price, or going through a travel agent who may or may not be giving you the best...

Pros: It does what it's supposed to do... as do other competing services. Cons: HUGE hole in their privacy policy.
"Expedia is a Passport web site, and Microsoft Investor is too. One day, Expedia could start offering higher fares to customers who have more than a million dollars in their Investor stock portfolio."
--Joel Spolsky

I have been using Expedia (both the US and UK site) for several years, and have always found the pricing and information very reliable and informative. The pricing is usually the lowest to be found. We travel at least twice a month throughout Europe, and...

Pros: Pick your own seats/special meals, occasional good deals Cons: A long wait on the phone if you have to call
I'll admit it...I can be bought. I was already a veteran of looking up airline ticket prices through various resources (usually Yahoo or Expedia). At some point, I had registered with Expedia, but had never followed up with an actual purchase. Instead,...

Pros: dependable & delivers what it promised Cons: risk of fraud or insecurities
I have never truly trusted the power of the internet. I know the power exists, but the security is another issue for me.
I encountered this fear of mine when I became involve with purchasing things online. I have a great mistrust for fraud...

I find that I book 80% of my travel on Expedia. The site is very easy to use, and 90% of the time I cannot find a lower price anywhere else.
I did have one problem with Expedia at one point though. I had some trouble booking a flight with...

Pros: Good for simple automated purchases n ot needing a human. Cons: Not set up to handle problems.
I used to like using Expedia(Microsoft) for my air tickets but like many firms that are highly automated, an error is not easily resolved. In late February I purchased a rt air ticket electronically and immediately after accepting my payment Expedia...

Pros: Ease of Use, Ticket search function. Cons: Payment info to airlines was mishandled.
I needed to get a friend from Denver to Honolulu on short notice.
Stuck without funds, e-tickets on my credit card was the best option.
The ticket selection and payment process was easy enough, but expedience and efficiency ended there. A...

Pros: Fast and reliable Cons: site can be a bit slow
I have only used expedia to order airline tickets twice and each time I was very satisfied. It only took 6 days to receive my tickets in the mail.
The site is very easy to use and the prices are cheaper than any other place I have been on the...

Pros: Almost always comes out cheapest Cons: Now divested from MicoSoft, may impact site
When I look to get tickets I usually start at another site and then wind my way to Expedia, leaving the previous cheap tickets on the previous browser window. Usually Expedia will beat that previous low price by a decent amount (at least $10 or so) and...

Pros: Good fares on the main routes Cons: Not so good off the beaten track
I have found Expedia to be great on the 'big' routes: US to Europe, Europe to main centres in Asia (Bangkok, Singapore etc), and within Europe. Where they seem to fall down is on fares to less popular destinations.
Flying to Vietnam from...

Pros: Fast and usually the best deal. Cons: Not always the best deal - Add Sidestep.
Expedia is great, but I discovered that if you go to Sidestep.com and download it, your Expedia experience becomes better. Once Sidestep is loaded, any Expedia search will automatically bring up Sidestep in a side window. Sidestep automatically does...
