Customer Service Stinks - Outsourced to Philipines!

Got help you if you need to change a reservation - staff in Phillipines is clueless! Got caught in a loop with US Airways telling me I had to go through Expedia amd Expedia saying the opposite.

Terrible, the customer support is awful

I ordered a vacation (hotel+flight+car). The confirmation came in 5 days after I made a purchase. The seats were not reserved, but at the time of purchasing expedia.com let me choose seats. The customer support says that seat are not guaranteed. I went to the Internet site of American Airlines and was able to check seats assignment. Unfortunaly almost all seats were taken at that time. So the customer support doesn't say true, they just forgot to make reservation on time and now I have to be separated from my family during my trip.

A caution on purchasing Expedia's flight Insurance

Do not purchase flight cancellation insurance until you are absolutely sure you will not change the dates of your flight. The insurance will not be valid on your new flight and cannot be changed to the new dates. I spoke with both Expedia and the insurance company and got no help. Wait until just before your flight to purchase the insurance; if at all.

HORRIBLE

It was easy to order but the flights changed and that's where the horror began. I wasted hours on the phone trying to reschedule the flights. It would have been much easier (and much more pleasant) if I had been able to change them at the website.

Awesome but you should check the direct source

This is a great site to check on many flights and lodging, cars and attraction price. I've booked with them at least 3 times(for 6 members in my family each time). They are awesome but they not necessarily have the cheapest price. If you want to book air tickets, I would say check out the airline's website as they often offer lowest price guarantee(for continental and united, those two I had used and purchased compared to expedia & travelocity). Also, they charge you an extra $10 or $5 fee on top of the ticket price as a service fee.

Quick, Easy, and huge database to search

I've used Expedia for probably 4-5 years now and I've never had any problems with them. While you can't always find great prices, I feel the convenience of browsing, searching, and shopping online is definitely fantastic at Expedia. I've purchased many tickets through them, including a couple to Hawaii, to London, Paris, as well as numerous shorter domestic flights. I'd definitely recommond using Expedia.

DO NOT USE EXPEDIA

I had a reservation for this weekend. I changed the reservation the day before the flight to one week later. They charged me an extra $50 for the change, plus an extra $46 for the flight. They sent me a confirmed itinerary. Four days later (after I already missed the original flight) they called me on the phone and said that there was an increase in the flight fare and they "cannot issue the ticket without an extra $xxx". What kind of business practices is this!

Beware of What Seat You Get

Delivery speed, accuracy once purchase were fine, but price fluctuation, customer service and seat assignment are suspicious. On more than one occasion when not were not able to pick our actual seat we ended up with seats next to the galley, next to the bathrooms or on seats that don't recline and these were all on trans-pacific or trans-atlantic 10+ hour long flights. I think Expedia does this on purpose. Yes you are getting a coach ticket but the worst possible one that no one who is purchasing from the airline direct would ever select.

Terrible!

I've been buying airline tickets on Expedia since 1998.
For international travel, to find a good price, I have to do the routing myself, by breaking the trip into segments. This can take several hours of checking various routes and schedules.
Twice (in 2004 and 2005) I have had Expedia balk at the last second and fail to purchase the tickets - saying there was not enough connection time between flights - even though there was 90 or 100 minutes. When this happened, my credit card was charged anyway - and it took hours to get it all straightened out with Expedia phone support and with my bank - since the card had maxed with the erroneous charges (in one case 3 times the ticket price).
Another time, I booked a hotel on Expedia (paying in full at time of booking), and upon arrival found that the hotel had not been notified.
Of my most recent 5 trips booked on Expedia, there have been problems with 3 of them. There are more reliable travel sites.

When making the reservation they booked me on a flight from Newark airport with a return flight to JFK airport which is in another state. When I called them to make them aware of the problem the supervisor was rude and very unprofessional and did not in any way tried to resolve the issue.

Poor technology and worse customer service

I have had a terrible experience booking through Expedia. Recently I tried to book a trip for business, and they kep changing the price after I selected the flight options. I finally just went to Orbitz
Now, I booked a trip to my friends wedding. I specifically picked bulkhead seats on my flights. A couple weeks later I went to the airlines site and they have NO seat assignments.
Their customer service is totally worthless and keeps telling me that they can't promise seat assignments

A Great First time Experience

The Palms Negril Resort was recommended to me by a colleague on my Job, she had her honeymoon there in April.
She raved about the food there (and the experience she and her new husband had there.So i took the girlfriend and
off we went to a place I never heard of in June and it was well worth the trip. I Do plan to return there maybe next year.
Thanks Palms Negril for a perfect time and experience. You really treated us well and you made my girlfriend happy. I love you for that

I purchased a flight but needed to change the date (family member had a stroke) Expedia Agent could not find a flight so I cancelled the existing flight. I then went online and found a flight (on the Expedia site) and booked it. I have now paid for 2 flights due to the incompetence of Expedia employees... Why am I paying for 2 flights when Expedia should have been able to reschedule my original flight....
I will not be using Expedia again, EVER....They suck.

I reserved a one way flight for 4 from LA to Vancouver on Expedia. I have used Expedia several times and been fairly pleased. The flight was on Alaska Airlines. When we checked in we were informed that Alaska has a one bag per person rule now. We had to pay $25/each for two extra bags. I complained and was told that Expedia should have told me. I have complained to Expedia and they told me it's my responsibility to check the airline limitations...none of which appear on my reservation. I pointed this out and they still refuse to make any compensation. I am done with them.
