I did not appreciate being harrassed by 2 phone calls to add an extended warranty before the item could be shipped.
If I had wanted the extended warranty I would not have said NO so many times to each caller.

They, of course, made an effort to sell me the more-profitable extras, such as an extended warranty, but they weren't excessively pushy. However, being asked to pay extra for insurance came as an unpleasant surprise. They did discount both the warranty and insurance, so I took them. Considering that they offered the lowest legitimate price on the web for the projector, would buy again.

The web site did NOT indicate the item was out of stock. I was not notified the item was out of stock until yesterday or 9 days after I placed the order.
I was told by a coworker that Abe's of Maine is ok. I assume this was a one time mistake and would be willing to give them a second chance.

I was upsold an extra battery, a camera case and more memory. i was assured the case was sesigned specifically for the camera. it wasn't. it's way too big. the battery doesn't fit. it's the wrong type. i feel ripped off. this was a gift and i hate having to return and exchange items because the merchant didn't get it right. i will never use your services again. I gave an unacceptable merchant rating.

I ordered the camera on 12/16 and they failed to ship it until 12/22, even though it was reported to have been in stock. The recipient of this gift will not receive it until after Christmas now.
I've spent thousands of dollars shopping on line (Amazon.com, PC Mall, etc) and have never been disappointed in this way. I'll not make the Abe's mistake again.

The customer service people were surly and vague about answering questions. I got the feeling that Abes was like some of the worst of the camera shops. In the end I got my item without any real serious aggravation, but it would be better if you could place the order and just get the item without the intervening need to contact them to find out what's happening. The customer service people are the reason for the below average rating.
